Nimusiima’s childhood began in places no child should be.
Bars, smoke, broken laughter — carried from one dim corner to another by a mother drowning in despair.
Monica’s life had unravelled: marriages failed, trauma deepened, drink became her refuge.
And in the shadows, her little girl was losing her childhood.
The community saw. They feared for Nimusiima. And they called Biojemmss.
We did not stand at a distance. We stepped into the depths with Monica — into her sorrow, her shame, her addiction. Patiently, diligently, we journeyed with her.
We looked beyond the brokenness to see the strength beneath — the woman rising again. We shared her pain, her joy, her fragile hope.
Rescue
When hunger struck, we gave food through our emergency hampers initiative. At Christmas, we placed bedding, mattress and a basin in her hands from our smaller appeals. We paid for Nimusiima to be safe in school thanks to our regular givers, giving Monica space to rebuild. Monica found companionship through our parenting workshops — spaces where loneliness gave way to friendship, where she learned how to care for herself and her daughter, and where she discovered she was not alone.
Every initiative — every gift, every workshop, every savings group — was a lifeline.
Each step was part of the journey: Rescue from danger, Restore strength, Release into independence.
Restore
Monica began to rent her own home. Behind it, she built a shed. Inside, she keeps pigs gifted through our sustainable livelihood programme — pigs that now produce and sell, bringing income and stability.
She joined one of our savings groups. Today, she is its chair. She is respected. She is renewed. She has found faith in Christ, and her life has been transformed.
She also benefits from our land loaning scheme, cultivating food from plots we provide freely.
And Nimusiima? She no longer wanders from bar to bar. She plays freely on the land, laughing with another child whose family has also been restored through Biojemmss.
Two children, side by side — a glimpse of what the Community Centre will multiply many times over.
Release
She now stands tall, leading others and shaping her own future — and because of her strength, Nimusiima can simply be a child again.”
This is the power of Rescue · Restore · Release — a journey from despair to renewal.
This is the power of Biojemmss — standing with families until hope takes root.
This is the power of God’s love — breaking chains, healing wounds, and turning brokenness into radiant life.
But today, it is only the beginning. We have the land. We have livestock. We have families like Monica’s who visit, who benefit, who begin to flourish.
What we do now in fragments — counselling in garages, workshops in borrowed spaces, children playing in corners of the land — will one day be gathered under one roof.
The Community Centre will be the beating heart where stories like Nimusiima’s are not rare miracles, but everyday realities.
Donate today— and let Trust’s story be multiplied across her community.
Monica’s Voice
Monica has given her full consent for her story and pictures of her and Nimusiima to be shared. She is proud that her journey can inspire others. In her own words:
“Biojemmss walked with me when I was lost. They never gave up on me. Today I have hope, I have a future, and my daughter is safe. I want people to know what God has done in my life through this work.”
