Urgent Christmas Appeal 2024
14th Dec 2024
Firm Foundations For Future Generations
"Our desire is to have the right facilities to meet the needs of children in our community in the right way and at the right time.”
One week ago, Biojemmss received an urgent call about a 13 year old girl "Miremba" who had been raped by her biological father. He remains in prison awaiting to be committed to High Court for trial. She had suffered sexual abuse for a long time before she finally sought support. We can only think how much sooner she could have got help if she knew where to run to, if she believed she had somewhere safe to go.
This Christmas, Biojemmss is raising £3940 to build the foundations for our long-desired community centre. Our hope is to have the facilities to deliver all 11 of our initiatives from the one location. Until now, we have been delivering our initiatives from rented facilities that do not have the space or what we need to adequately host the children and families coming to us. We face hard decisions around accommodating the numbers turning up, and people who have walked for miles to attend end up sitting in the baking sun when the small room we have is rammed. As our rental premises are in town, those in the more remote rural areas that often need us the most, cannot even make the journey to us and even more worryingly do not know where to find us.
We are asking for you to donate to the very foundation of our work, to our forever story, and the forever stories of so many children.
Our desire is to have this centre fully built by 2026 for the estimated 1450 individuals that will be accessing our life-changing and life-saving services every month. We need £3940 before the New Year to ensure planned work can go ahead.
