Get Involved

If you feel inspired by what you’ve heard so far, why not get involved? Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Volunteering

The Biojemmss UK and Ugandan teams are growing, and we need people like you! If you are passionate about seeing the lives of children changed and have a skill you think we could use, tell us a bit about yourself via email. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, boost your CV and support us as we change lives!

Those volunteering in our UK roles often have the opportunity to visit Uganda and see the work we do first hand. Aside from these bespoke trips, we do take out small teams of volunteers for specific events to join our Ugandan team. Please contact us via email should you wish to apply for an opportunity.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles: Volunteer Trainee Events and Fundraising Organiser

Fundraising

Raising funds is a great way to contribute much-needed money to help us carry out our work, and to tell people how amazing the Biojemmss kids are.

If you are in Uganda and are wanting to donate goods, finances or your time, please email us at info@biojemmss.com so we can put you in touch with a member of the local team.

Fundraising events happen up and down the country, also in the UK and have so far included:

  • Sponsored marathons
  • A Mad Hatter’s tea party
  • Making and selling bunting
  • A Posh Nosh (a meal where everyone brings a dish and a donation)
  • Biojemmss breakfasts
  • An arts and crafts event

These events don’t have to be big or time-consuming. Many people have used hobbies such as jam-making or knitting to make an important difference.

If you would like some ideas, or have already fundraised and would like to send in your money, please contact us.

If you would simply like to give financially, visit our Donate page.

Prayer

We would love it if you could commit to praying for Biojemmss on a regular basis. For prayer requests, please contact us.

Sending letters, gifts and donations directly

If you would like to send letters or cards to Biojemmss in Uganda, you can find the postal and email address on our contact page. Please include your contact details so we can reply! We have also received small gifts via this address, but please don’t send anything valuable as the postal system is not completely reliable.

We can also receive larger packages via Salabed Shipping, which can be picked up from the Kampala Kisenyi branch. Parcel drop-offs can be made across the UK. Contact us to discuss arrangements.

Before you write, please download the Conditions of Communication policy, which covers the approved channels and letter-writing tips.
